VSE Racing League Info & Rules

Below you will find everything you need to know about VSE Racing League, please take the time to have a read to make sure you understand the rules.

Schedule

This league runs weekly at 7pm UK time every Wednesday and broadly follows the real-life F1 calendar with 10-race seasons.

Tiers

For season 1 we had 1 tier, but due to popular demand, we are expanding this for season 2. We don't have a set number of tiers, but we will do everything we can to get every full time driver a seat. As we're just getting started, unfortunately we are unable to guarantee this, but we will do our best.

Drivers will be broadly split out based on their qualifying times when they sign up, but we reserve the right to adjust this where we see fit.

Stewarding

Although we will have stewards, we are taking a relaxed case-by-case attitude to stewarding in this league. If someone does something malicious or clearly over the limit and it gets reported, they will get a penalty. But if it looks like a racing incident, we likely won't step in. We find sim damage does a lot of the work to make sure the racing is clean. We also reserve the right to remove anyone from this league without prior warning for any clear malicious acts that have no place in league racing, like taking people out on purpose or revengeful actions.

The points system is as follows:

Our Rules

We don't have an extensive ruleset, because we like to run our league on respect and not exploitation of the rules. That being said, please note the below:

  • Broadly follow the rules of F1 - that's follow the pit in and out lines, no overtaking under Safety Car, no abusing of game exploits. If it's something that you don't see in real life, don't do it in the game.
  • Whether on the inside or outside, attacking or defending, if you see a red proximity arrow and someone is alongside you, leave them room. For avoidance of doubt, we consider 'alongside' to be front axle to rear axle.
  • No retaliatory action. Two wrongs don't make a right - if someone has done something they shouldn't have, stay calm and report it after the race.
  • No in-game penalties will be removed, with the exception of ones that are clearly the result of a game issue. These must be reported to us in the stewards room.
  • No purposeful Safety Cars. If you want to retire, pull into the pits first then retire from the pause menu.
