VSE Ranked Overview
Forget everything you know about league racing - VSE Ranked is on another level
- Your VSE Rank is your skill level - it’ll be right there in your Discord name to compare to others, with a leaderboard to boot
- There are no ‘full time’ or ‘reserve’ drivers - you only race in the races you want to race in and you're guaranteed a spot every week
- Simple sign up - just 2 questions to answer and you will be given your rank & roles instantly
- Still the same high quality on-track action with racing rules and stewards
The Ranked System
When you sign up, you will be asked for your best Time Trial lap around Silverstone, which will be used to generate your starting rank to get people into the right splits. Then, when you sign up to do a race, you will be put into a split that is appropriate for your rank. You will also be given an expected finishing position - if you match or beat this, your rank will go up. If you don’t, your rank will go down.
There will be a VSE Ranked leaderboard that will show every driver's rank and your Discord nickname will also be updated with your new rank after every race. Your rank will also persist across multiple seasons, so you can build it up over time.
The Points System
Although your VSE Rank will take priority, you will still score championship points with every race, but the points system will be very different to what you’re used to. As there’s no set splits, the top 50 drivers when all split results are compiled into 1 big list will score points.
Assuming completely full lobbies, that means that the winner of the top split will score 50 points, 2nd place 49 points, 3rd place 48 points, 20th place 31 points and the winner of split 2 will score 30 points, 2nd place 29 points etc. There will also be bonus points for finishing on the podium or winning the race, no matter which split you’re in.
Each weekly race spot will have its own championship - that means if you can only make one of the races and you want to compete for the title, you can do that without worrying about missing other weekly race spots.
Rules & Stewarding
One thing that won’t be different to traditional league racing is the rules, racing etiquette and stewarding. So you will still be expected to race cleanly and if you’re reported for breaching the rules, we can still give you a post-race penalty.
